Sonar pulse to be made a support power off of building whatever, is probably the best plan. The alternatives, are do nothing with it, and sonar pulse basically isn't really a part of the game; or give spies the ability to swim out to sea (which would be stupid imo); or allow the sonar pulse to be gi...

Sonar pulse is hardly seen or used in games, and isn't very useful even if it's actually used. It really needs to be improved, after hopefully something is done to beef up Soviet naval AA ability. I would suggest something like sonar pulse being automatically given on a countdown when, say, you have...

Navy is fine imo. Sometimes it will win games for you. Sometimes you will get beaten on land and it makes little practical difference. (Or you lose out for not having invested in land units instead.) So it's quite dynamic in the difference it may or may not make to particular games. As for subs lock...

A cloak-only spy might be a good experiment, but I would hope that getting too close to a pill box would expose them etc

I have suggested before that putting a spy in a pill box could give you auto-detection. The problem used to be worse, as you could only force fire on them and they weren't targeted when you moved the mouse over them. Not too much of a problem for your own troops, but it was a nightmare trying to det...

With France, you could also have cheaper gap gens, or more effective gap gens, like a little bit larger radius. I think that was actually the plan at one time.

Interesting idea, although they can already be one of the most annoying parts of the game without cloaking thrown in!

Not sure he was saying they were useless; it might be more that he thinks creating a special unit which is the same as the regular unit, only cheaper, is a bad game idea. Personally I don't mind, but 300 or 350 price would be better imo for what is sometimes a game changing unit. Or maybe actually c...

Anything being done to buff France?

Here is my own idea which I'm pretty sure no one else will agree with-- gap generators to France only. That would make them truly distinct and powerful. I also think England needs a buff as the cloaked transport is now too easily detected really. I used to think it was OP with the cloaking, then (I ...

V2 nerf is too bad, it has less range then art and thus cover much less effective attack area now. After hearing more feedback from the playtest, I dialed back the minimum range reduction from 5c0 to 4c0. This will be an extra one-cell minimum range for Arty and V2s from the current release instead...

New players are gonna quit when they get steam rolled online over and over. I've seen it happen with my own friends. Maybe a tracked name with player rank would help, or being able to set a handicap setting per player. OK but that's a different issue. New players may be potentially discouraged by v...

Don't think mere swearing was really the issue in the first place. I think the issue was more people that are repeatedly jerks.

Lol just toughen up. I give zero fucks about what some dumbass says on OpenRA. Even if people should in theory "toughen up" as you say, that still leaves the question as to whether the OP is correct or not, that this makes a significant difference to player numbers, and new players continuing with ...

If that's really the case that they are always helpful to new players, then great. The best 1v1 are also some of the best (or the best) at team games. But no way would they find team games ridiculously easy, unless we are talking about them playing against rather inexperienced opponents. For one thi...

Sure it may depend on the individual. But that still means that telling people to stick to 1v1 games is a questionable solution.
