Re: EMP MAD Tank (Opinions Needed!)

MAD tank can be IC'd like normal. If you mean the defenses, they'll still be disabled, but won't take damage. Disable lasts about ~10 seconds. Once I get some test games done to demonstrate it's not OP, I plan to increase the HP a bit. I like this direction more since I want there to be some counter...

EMP MAD Tank (Opinions Needed!)

https://i.imgur.com/IsQxrMx.png So I was asked a little while back by N/a to whip up something to buff the MAD Tank. Rather than simply buffing its damage or HP, I thought I could make the unit more interesting by giving it an EMP effect. This way, it could function as a utility unit to assist in b...

Re: End of 2018 RA balance changes

I don't think so, as dogs can now run with an attack command. Running dogs dodge rifle shots (no damage). While testing this I ran into a bug. I was trying to get my dog to do a running attack after eating someone. If you give the attack command while he's eating it's just a walk command (I guess be...

Re: End of 2018 RA balance changes

Had a discussion on Discord with Barf about what to do with the engineer. You can find it in #play-testing. We think a good place to start would be reducing the engineer cost to 400. Cap time reduction isn't desirable as it is already feasible to sneak engineers into a Barf base (RAGL Champion). Ref...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 6 - Post-Season Discussion

I'd like a map banning system next season, and not only because of the drama surrounding my matches. It'd also promote more map picking variety if opponents banned the map you always played on.

For example, at the start of a match each player gets to ban 1 map.

TD: Rush

https://i.imgur.com/XeyGYvn.jpg Welcome back, Commander. After the relatively successful Allies Overhaul mod I did ( Linky ), I figured I'd take a crack at TD as well. The intentions of this mod are little different, however. I wanted to change the base game play of TD to be more enjoyable. Too oft...

TD: Rush Tournament

https://i.imgur.com/XeyGYvn.jpg Hello Commanders, I'm back with another tournament. The tournament will feature a new mod I've developed for TD which can be found Here . In short, the mod aims to make game play less punishing so we can see more interesting, longer games. The pace will be quicker. P...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA

My post will probably get lost, but if you happen to read it I'll keep it short. Whichever game you remaster (or all of them), I think it's very important you heavily consider the community balance patches those games have spawned. 1000's of hours of play testing have already been done for you. The ...

Re: Redesigning and Balancing TD

Ooo, this thread is getting too hot. I'd like to point out that ZxGannon is not replacing AoA. Those shoes are still empty. This is simply a mod for TD. I honestly think this thread should get moved to the modding subforum and a new TD balance thread should be made. Ideally someone who is a part of ...

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks

For slow vehicles like the mammoth this will still appear quite buggy as units can not stop when they're between cells.

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks

I never really liked the idea of husk scrapping tbh. With husks timing out I feel like this would just create frustrating gameplay. It also indirectly nerfs vehicle play, which is already in a fairly weak spot. It also acts as a snowball mechanic. The only benefit I see is maaaybe more micro opportu...

Re: Using of software programmable macros in competitive games

*Edit: LawandOrder deleted his post asking how if I said production was easy, why would players want a Macro. Since I spent like 10 minutes on this I'm just going to leave it up. Macros allow you to set up a custom queue that gives you an inherent advantage. The usual way to queue up units is to do ...

Re: Using of software programmable macros in competitive games

I guess I'll chip in (again). Comparing to Starcraft is shooting yourself in the foot. Starcraft has UPFRONT cost to unit production. You can't start building the unit until you pay the whole cost of the unit first. This is done on purpose to keep players VERY busy on the macro side to make it harde...
