As has been stated many times, our aim isn't to just remake C&C and RA, it's to reimagine it to our vision for the game. We are doing this for free in our spare time and while we'd like to be able to please everyone, if we stray from our vision to please the purists, it quickly becomes work and not ...

I'll tell you why it isn't updating automatically. It's because no one bothered to add it to the packaging system since barely anyone has reported using the source package from the site.

Which version of Ubuntu? 10.10? EDIT: Derp, it's right there in the title.

I know about the issue with the Software Center, it'll probably be fixed once we have a cross platform launcher for the game. In my own tests though, using `dpkg -i` to install the package works fine.

The 6150 is pretty gutless, I'd be very surprised if it has all the features the game needs.

Once things are relatively stable, we'll probably going to try making it work on slightly older cards than we currently support. I can't make any promises as to when that will happen though.

As I understand it, many of the file formats are the same or slightly modified but the game engine and mechanics are very different. RA2 and TS are isometric for a start which we don't support and aren't planning on supporting.

No point trying to shove a square peg into a round hole.

There's never more than one or two servers up at a time on average. We don't have a very big player base yet.

So it's not that you can't access the domain. You haven't got a firewall or a proxy installed do you?

Ok, so if you go to http://master.open-ra.org/list.php does that work at all?

I know what you're saying, but if you're rushing with tanks the infantry tend to get neglected, meaning the tanks will have to fend for themselves against other armour and infantry. Perhaps you've missed the multiple times we've stated that we don't want tank rushes to be effective and want a more ...

Thanks, game working perfectly now. May be add it in FAQ?
The installer is going to be fixed in the very near future to ensure OpenAL is up to date so it shouldn't be an issue.

That would be because I typed them wrong: http://open-ra.org/get-dependency.php?file=ra-packages http://open-ra.org/get-dependency.php?file=cnc-packages Sorry about that. There are both legal and practical reasons why we don't offer the entire thing as one package. I'll let pchote know about the ema...

Well the content packages can be downloaded via http://open-ra.org/get-dependency.php?ra-packages and/or http://open-ra.org/get-dependency.php?cnc-packages The downloaded zips should then be extracted into mods/ra/packages and mods/cnc/packages respectively. Really odd that it doesn't work in the in...
