Re: Cannot build openra
msbuild is supposed to be provided as part of mono, but this has historically been quite difficult for distros to package so many have not bothered. This makes the distro-provided packaging useless for developing .NET applications, so you will need to find a way to install the upstream packages from...

Re: Open RA slow since latest update
If you want to see Tiberian Sun on OpenRA (and even if you don't, there are many others who do), many things which "ain't broke" in RA still need to change. We rely on feedback on the playtests to find and fix any issues that these changes may cause, and we didn't find or hear about any problems tha...

Re: No far battlefield camera
The battlefield camera and UI scale options that are available depend on your screen resolution and OS DPI settings. If we enabled zooming out further on small screens the selection boxes would be too small to work properly. I suspect that the HP Pavilion may have Windows configured with a display s...

Re: Engine questions
The answer to all of these questions is: yes, but you will need to create some of the new logic yourselves using C#. Mods can include dll files with custom game logic, and if needed, you can also make changes to the engine directly (but we don't recommend this because it makes updates more difficult...

Re: OpenRA unable to detect disks
Mounting the ISOs should be sufficient, although if you are using Linux you may need to manually mount them one at a time at /media/openra as support for automatically detecting mounted ISO is a bit spotty there.

Re: Advice on multiplayer over the internet?
Hosting your own server is unnecessary 95% of the time. The community provides many dedicated servers that you can join and use - the first player to join becomes the admin and can select the map and game options.

Re: Server & game dev
According to what I have read in the FAQ side, the program is said to store things (logs and configs?) in the My Documents folders but I have found none of that. There is however, things being created and stored in the Users AppData Roaming folder. Correct. The new default support directory locatio...

Re: Tiberian Sun Progression...
We have been making good progress over the last couple of years, but most of this work has focused on low-level technical challenges that require rewriting significant chunks of the core game engine. This work needs to happen slowly to make sure we don't break existing mods (RA/TD/D2k + all the comm...
