Re: A Special Announcement from EA

- use DOOM and its resurgence as a case study. They redrew and went back to basics. They made it about the gore, no nonsense action and the heavy metal music with keys and skulls and non-linear maps. RA’s comeback can do the same. What made it great and how can those characterstics be amplified? Ye...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA

Regarding the stigma around DLC; No one ever has had a problem with DLC/expansions, that are what they used to be. Red Alert Aftermath was worth it's money. Halo 2s map packs were worth the money. Charging 3 bucks for colours is wrong. We used to get them by achieving targets in game! Make a complet...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA

And don't forget to take Frank on board, certain marches will need to be remastered reinterpreted. Can't believe i forgot, this is IMPERATIVE. Players who remember series for their music and don't know the composer/s, do notice when they play a sequel which doesn't use the same composer. Bungie and...

Re: A Special Announcement from EA

100% with FiveAces. It's good EA are noticing the interest of the players, and the hard work of the developers and modders though. Redoing what others have done and charging people for it will only damage/split the community and continue to leave negative thoughts about EA. EA have a bad name outsid...

Re: Team maps Mapmaking Workshop (2v2, 3v3)

Nice. I like the buildings on the maps, but i found from previous experience people dislike it sadly. But that was 1vs1 maps, so for team games it's more plausible/favourable for sure.

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks

As we got kinda off topic, i'd like to wishlist something that will never happen. A checkbox for "experimental/fun units".Where we would have tested and reasonably balanced extra units in fairly large numbers, like 3 extra per faction. We've seen many players bring cool units into mod maps, and Sirc...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 6 - Map pool

I think some of those definitely need a rename, as if they take off then it'll be more rememberable. Not to float my own boat, and imo Borrowed Time is a top map, Badger Hills fills that tech incentive type map i think. It's also good that we have 2 19x mine maps as they dont follow the typical styl...

Re: Red Alert Global League: Season 6 - Map pool

Map pool looks fairly varied. Nice that Badger Hills made a revisit and wasn't deemed too linear. Shadow Fiend coming back is a nice replacement of Pitfight filling the gap of a classic long played map. Haven't any recommendations myself atm, and lightly not to with my current work load sadly. Thoug...

Re: Mechanics, engineers and scrapping and restoring husks

Engineers: One-shot capturing of things. - Capture buildings with a short external delay, then run inside and are consumed (C&C3:KW behaviour) - with an "Reusable Engineer" lobby option to restore something approximating the current behaviour to help compromise with the people who will object to th...
