As with all games (computer and board), the competitive scene is good for the game. It forces balance which allows nubs to choose and do anything they like without being penalised unknowingly.

Hadn't noticed myself that SAMs were not as good, even being primarily a Soviet player. But that may be due to Flakks being good enough.

Apologies if you knew already, but minelayers work on auto mode if you use ctrl and left click, rearming on auto also. Thats a measure of player creativity not skill...... Imo this would apply moreso in the lower levels of players.
