Gap generator and MGG are almost pointless with the shroud effect, (besides limiting enemy unit sight range, which I'm not suggesting changing) because you can just V2 or arty the center of the shroud. Having it generate fog would make it much more mysterious, and it should also "un-reveal" building...

the game is not balanced. with every team having the same AI setting, the Allies usually win, the Soviets usually lose. this also might be (and definitely is) the problem with poor AI and how it uses units, not with the game balance. Such testing doesn't really give you any useful info on balancing...

Thanks for the explanation Widow! And if anyone is wondering, I'm not saying they should be in the release just because of what was presented here, but I have played games with them and it works great.

Maybe just like a 5% or less reduction on heavy damage plus constant smoke. Infantry meta is fine, they are high risk/reward. It would also make it easier to pick out tanks to send back maybe, or for the other players to target the smoking vehicles. I'm really happy with the current RA mod balance, ...

I think this was in RA2 and TS, not sure about original RA, but it would be a cool change even if it was even lower percentages. I also think heavily damaged units should continue to smoke.
