This is how Dark Reign prevented base pushing: buildings were built on site, taking time to build whilst "under construction." During this construction phase, the building was vulnerable. (See screenshot.) Any change such as this would change the Red Alert mod so significantly that it could no longe...

Basepushing will always be a mechanic of the game unless OpenRA deviates drastically from the original Red Alert. Personally, I find my current tactics have often adopted a "take and hold" paradigm where an MCV follows up behind an attack to hold an objective (usually an ore point) once it is taken ...

I thought if you put it in the nuke silo / iron curtain / chronosphere, it would reset the timer, but this is only something I vaguely remember somebody saying long ago, maybe it was just a suggestion. IIRC FiveAces said that it may be the case during one of his casts but i think he also said he wa...

+1 This seems to follow the principle of least surprise. It is what most players would expect to happen if you can sneak a spy into a Nuke Silo.

Anti-air would be good for interception. It seems strange that a Longbow has anti-air, yet the MiG does not. It would also counter artillery, since vision provided by hinds could be knocked out by the MiGs (assuming the opposition does not have GPS.)

I am new to OpenRA and found FiveAces and SoScared's YT channels very interesting. Really appreciate the commentary on micro/macro, and what constitutes good or bad tactics, and also enjoy the insight into aspects of the OpenRA balancing compared to original RA. Will be watching the other channels l...
