Re: Map Design Contest 2018 - The Outcome

Nice work, fellow mapmakers! Congratulations to other winners!

Unfortunately, I cannot claim my prize because PayPal doesn't allow receiving funds for Ukraine residents. There's simply no way for me to do it. Therefore, I'd like to donate $20 for RAGL and $25 for the next Map Design Contest. :D

Thanks. Btw, you have disabled private message receipt, so you may want to change that in case people want to reply

Re: Using of software programmable macros in competitive games

Thanks for the explanation, @WhoCares. I do feel like these scripts can have detrimental effects on the gameplay although I recognise your courage in experimenting. I think the build scripts are especially powerful because consistent builds is an art to be mastered. Sometimes you just build a wrong ...

Re: Using of software programmable macros in competitive games

I feel like I am a little out of the loop here. Could somebody summarise what macros achieve, exactly? I see some people mention that some macros are more harmful than other. Could we have a list of all of these macros and their impact? Are they possible only if you own a mouse with a lot of buttons...

Re: RAGL Season 5 Post Season Discussion

I have a few things to discuss about RAGL. Viewer's POV: 1. Separate website is inconvenient. * the new site can sometimes be down completely or just slow * it looks abandoned (updates are super rare), and it seems like nobody develops it anymore * it does not offer anything new. The old style (foru...

Re: Introducing : MapTools

Nice work! The mirror functionality sounds especially useful. Mirroring by hand is very hard and error prone. It was always the most tedious and boring part of mapmaking for me, so if your tool can at least roughly mirror maps, that's already a huge win.

Thanks guys!

If my opinion matters, a simple spreadsheet on google docs does the job better than ragl.org (less clicks, easier to read).

I, as a league follower, am very disappointed about the frequency of updates:

I have no idea what's happening in the league, what the latest results are and who's going to win.

I have a new and last batch of maps (updated the original post with screenshots and links): Bridgetown (1v1, 80x60) needs playtesting Further experiments with 1v1 navy. The island in the middle has gems (connectable by 2 bridges). The idea is that players should fight for it. Megaton Dawn (1v1, 70x7...

On Sidestep, I mined the middle area, then built a demo truck at the 5 o'clock base and sent it through A-move to the 11 o'clock base of my opponent, and forgot about it. Guess where the demo truck driver decided to take a shortcut (and what blew up presently) :)

Thanks to everyone who voted for Almost Arid (my map)! It was designed specifically as a competitive map. I've playtested it extensively in the past and it survived many iterations, so I'm confident in it.

Speaking of maps for the next season, SoScared, maybe you could give this map a try http://resource.openra.net/maps/20759/ (Almost Arid)? It's fairly balanced, in my opinion.

Talking to you is impossible. Your posts make no logical sense, your responses go off-topic, you bring up unrelated subjects If you want to follow logic, then this statement isn't true at all. @AoAGeneral1 's first response was to your original post: http://www.sleipnirstuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php...

@Wippie , I played Heroes and I must admit, it's a pretty fun map. What I liked is how hard to base-push on it because of the careful placement of trees. It's small, but not very choky. It has enough ore for different strategies, and makes it possible to build ships. There's some difference between...

Good direction of thinking, in my opinion. What if Yaks could carry 1 or 2 units? To load units, a Yak must be on an airstrip. To unload, you would need to press F, so the units would catapult (so if you are attacking someone, you can only unload once). Upon a yak's death, it would catapult and para...
