I couldn't agree more and I hope to also fix these issues more so as a byproduct of this issue. These will inadvertently occur through the balancing process which in the end I hope we all like. I recall a stream where I think SoScared was comparing the Longbow to the Hind and was saying that it's j...

IRL "Mil Mi-24" Hinds are Soviet but Red Alert is an alternative universe and a name is fixable simply by renaming. I haven't really reflected on the name before to be honest. . true, but the original RA got it right initially, why change it for the wrong in OpenRA? it feels like a step backwards, ...

while it's okay to wildly switch around generic units like APC or the like for balancing purposes, the Hind is an iconic real-life soviet/russian aircraft. It really stands out as a sore thumb in the Allied build tree. it can be made to rearm on an airstrip no problem. The only question is, what do ...

i like the 3 last examples of your balancing improvements. Vanilla is quite a bit on the absurd side of things there.

SMIFFGIG wrote: If there is only one unit in the entire game that explodes with damage when destroyed, then it should be the flamethrower infantry (minus demo truck).
if it leads to the unit never used (like grens) then no unit should chain-explode. Just make it a graphic effect and be done with it.

in a little mod i was playing with a while ago a was using a special forces drop. You needed an airfield and an additional prerequisite to get it. It worked largely identical to the paradrop. It dropped an APC and a variety of infantry. You could use it for behind the lines sabotage or, coupled with...

The reason is that nobody ever felt like implementing strafe-attack logic for player-controlled aircraft. honest answers are cool 8) Yaks were a threat to infantry blobs in the original game and an important reason not to cluster up infantry. It would be nice to have that back in ORA instead of hav...

That could just be in part detecting certain better players having selected to play allies, which isn't the same as allies being better. in that case, it may be useful to have a look at some AI games (bots) My Impression is that allied bots are generally more effective against other bots than sovie...

but i don't think it is necessary and would be hard to balance. The thread title was if there's anything from RA not yet implemented. Balancing is arbitrary so there's never ever a balancing issue with a specific unit before that unit is even added to the game. Maybe it needs adjustments compared t...

Hi guys I'm in favor of some slight cost/build time/damage adjustments to deter spamming the pillboxes, but I would also like to propose increasing the damage tanks to do pillboxes in particular. Clearly, pillboxes are meant to be anti-infantry, and they do an excellent job at that. However, the al...

I prefer having just one type of classic Mammoth Tank myself. Seems to get built more often since the new release that came out just recently, maybe it's in a good place right now? Check out this clip (FiveAces vs Abcdefg30): https://youtu.be/o1d70I9Qh9g?t=1911 Loved that match, very entertaining! ...

good ideas in this thread another rarely used unit is the Hijacker. Maybe (even when the bugs with its pathing are fixed) the Hijacker could also capture husks like the mechanic? also there's been discussions about the MAD tank. I liked the ideas to make it a support unit or to give additional effec...

thanks to the devs for the new playtest! :bana: first things i did notice: Longbow buff seems to work. They're more effective now AA Missiles for Missile Subs on the other Hand... i understand that the primary idea is that msubs can assault hinds hovering staticly over the sea. However, in a soviet ...
